Javier Mendez backs Khabib Nurmagomedov for winning against St-Pierre. The fight between St-Pierre and Nurmagomedov can easily be considered as one of the biggest fights in MMA history if it ever takes place. Both the fighters are always in the GOAT debate and have spectacular professional records.
Nurmagomedov is 29-0 and has dominated every single fighter he has faced in his career without even bleeding once. On the other hand, GSP boasts a record of 26-2 with multiple championship defenses. He is often regarded as the complete MMA fighter in the history of combat sports.
Recently, Eagle FC president Shamil Zavurov suggested the idea of a grappling bout between Nurmagomedov and GSP. Even though the possibility of this happening is very less, it’s hard to rule out the idea of the fight. Both the fighters have massive respect for each other and had shared the eagerness of fighting each other.

Mendez was interviewed by Kacper Rosolowski and Denis Shkuratov and the video was posted on the ‘Submission Radio‘. During the discussion, the hosts discussed the possibility of the grappling bout between Nurmagomedov and GSP. While addressing that, Mendez explained that it would be very interesting to see the fight.
Talking about the condition of Nurmagomedov after his retirement, Mendez told the hosts “that would be interesting, that would be fun to watch… he’s grappling now, he kills everybody. That guy is still killing everybody. He’s heavier though but he’s killing everybody more dominant than when he was lighter.”
Further, when asked about his expectations about the fight, Mendez revealed that even if it is St-Pierre, Nurmagomedov will easily dominate him inside the octagon as he had done to everybody else. As a coach, he has never doubted Nurmagomedov’s skill set and expects him to control and beat every opponent.
“Khabib is gonna dominate him just like he does everybody else, that’s what I expect. I expect nothing less from him, I have never seen him not dominate anybody,” said Mendez.
The fight between Nurmagomedov and GSP is a dream fight for many MMA fans. Even if there is a little possibility of this match-up taking place it is enough to gain huge attention from fans.
