Pena, though winning her title and currently having no fights booked still continued to perform her media obligations and give insights as to what she does daily and what she thinks about the upcoming bouts.

The American was asked to comment on how life has been since becoming the new UFC bantamweight champion to which she replied that when she was a ranked contender there were too many irritations and distractions to deal with but since her glorious win “it was all like water off a duck’s back“. Now that she sits at the top, there’s nothing really that could bother her at this point.

‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ was then asked how it is to not be chasing the next top contender, now that she is the one who holds the gold to which she answered, “The only thing I’m gunning for is getting that rematch going and making sure we set that date and get that rolling.”

She was also asked to comment on Amanda Nunes recent change in coaching team and due to her recent issues if a fight wouldn’t materialise would she look to fight someone else and to which Pena said, “Um, no. I mean I think you know, Amanda probably wants to get back in there as soon as possible and she wants to try to get her belt back so I don’t anticipate her waiting you know a super long time.”
