In light of his upcoming bout with Gilbert Burns, one can always find Khamzat Chimaev at the UFC’s Performance Institute and one such person who regularly encounters him is Tatiana Suarez. UFC Strawweight Tatiana Suarez is a regular member of the PI and is constantly having to defend herself against the “Borz” in the sauna.

In an interview with Helen Yee, she tells the Swedish fighter is often testing her skills, playfully of course. She says, “Whenever he (Khamzat) sees me at the PI he comes up and kicks me – like shin to shin. I’m like, ‘What are you doing? We don’t even have shin pads on.’ I’m like, whatever it’s okay. A real great friendship, he (Chimaev) just comes over and – the other day, he was trying to like, wrestle me in the sauna.”

She adds, “I’m like, ‘Dude, what is happening right now.’ I’m like, ‘No, let’s not do this right here.”

The Chechnya has landed 4 straight victories after joining the UFC, all this without a single scratch. Now the only thing standing in the path to fight for the title is former welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burn. They are to fight in the main card of the welterweight division at UFC 273 which is to take place this weekend.

Currently, Khamzat is considered to be the fan-favorite, while Burns is the underdog, presuming Chimaev can replicate the performances showcased against Jingliang Li (UFC 267) and Gerald Meerschaert (UFC Fight Island 4). (UFC Fight Island 4). If done so, he could cement his opportunity for the 170-pound title shot. Burns has won seven of his last eight, with his loss owing to his Title fight against current welterweight titleholder, Kamaru Usman.
