Report: Bantamweight prospect Thomas Almeida and other fighters released from the UFC roster
Thomas Almeida
Once, a huge bantamweight prospect, Thomas Almeida is no longer part of the UFC. Three other fighters accompany ‘Thominhas’ in leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship roster.
Thomas Almeida was one of the most exciting fighters to look out for when he came into the UFC. ‘Thominhas’ has a record of 22-5-0, which is a very impressive record but his recent form has got him out of the UFC roster. The fighter came into the UFC with a clean record of 16-0. Four consecutive wins saw Thomas’s name among the ones to watch out for in the UFC. A KO artist who never shied away from some striking action.
A loss against Cody Garbrandt changed things as he faced the first loss of his career. Then, losses against Jimmie Rivera, Rob Font, Jonathan Martinez, and most recently, Sean O’Malley paved the way out for Almeida. Combate was the first to reveal this news about Almeida being cut off.
Sarah Alpar, Mike Rodriguez, and Antonio Arroyo accompany Thomas Almeida
Thomas Almeida is not the only fighter leaving the roster. Sarah Alpar is a women flyweight fighter who made her debut in the UFC in September 2020. Two consecutive losses against Jessica-Rose Clark and Erin Blanchfield have led to the release of Sarah. She has a record of 9-6-0 in her professional MMA career.
As far as Mike Rodriguez is concerned, he is a light heavyweight fighter who made his UFC debut in 2018, opening with a loss. Since his debut, Mike has fought 8 times inside the UFC with only 2 wins. He has a record of 11-7-0 with one No Contest bout.
Antonio Arroyo is a Dana White Contender Series fighter. His two wins in the Series got him a UFC contract but his first three fights in the UFC have been losses. He has a record of 9-5-0 in his professional career.
