“Couldn’t finish me”- Tony Ferguson thrusts his name into UFC lightweight contention with a call out to Charles Oliveira

Tony Ferguson calls out Charles Oliviera for a rematch
As the much-awaited matchup between Charles Oliviera and Dustin Poirier goes on in the UFC 269, the most eligible contender for the title, Tony Ferguson can’t stay still and just watch.
In a recent tweet, Tony Ferguson was seen taunting Oliviera. When Oliviera vs Ferguson took place, the Brazilian used an arm-bar hold on Ferguson and expected him to tap out, but to his astonishment, he didn’t. The determination and grit shown by Ferguson gave him bragging rights over Oliviera even if he lost the match.
Both of them met in the co-main event of UFC 256 in December 2020, where Charles Oliviera defeated interim lightweight division champion Tony Ferguson via unanimous decision.
It was majorly dominated by Oliviera, but Ferguson thinks otherwise. In his recent post to a social media networking site, he said, “We’re not gonna waste any energy here, and you guys shouldn’t either in jiu-jitsu matches, Just be patient and wait for the opportunity for him to advance and get so lazy that in the third round he doesn’t even advance to mount anymore. What he does is he stays controlled into side position looking for something completely different, a different move because he was mentally broken in the first round.”
It might be true at some times when Ferguson refused to tap out at a submission move Oliviera made. That seemed to have mounted more pressure on Oliviera’s head. It seems that Tony Ferguson wants to get a rematch with Oliviera.
“Couldn’t finish me” says Tony Ferguson in a tweet to Charles Oliviera

Lashing out at dissidents and shutting down criticism about his fight with Oliviera, Ferguson said, “I went back and kind of watched film, and without the commentary and how all like, ‘Oh, you got dominated, this and that.’ Okay, to the untrained people in jiu-jitsu, Advancing positions in traditional styles of martial arts, you will get points, advantages, and different types of points. But the judging and the contesting as far as the commission, I don’t even know if it’s there. I’m gonna be real, I don’t.”
He also decided to silence all those who were thinking that he will be cut loose by the UFC due to his age. He said, “So a question for John McCarthy and The Punk, no I’m not getting f*cking cut, Josh, come on dog, you got your ass kicked. Don’t start that sh*t. The fans love me. They want to see me fight again. And I love you guys too.”
