The only women’s contest listed on the main card of UFC Vegas 11 saw a straw-weight bout between Mackenzie Dern and Randa Markos. In which Dern defeated Markos via armbar submission in Round 1.

Mackenzie Dern is back in the top 10 most in-form strawweights after bouncing back from the first loss of her career. Her dominant loss to Amanda Ribas saw drop to no.18. But after a typical performance and ruthless submission over Hannah Cifers she is back up towards the top.
Whereas Markos has always had a low form score as she has not managed to string two wins together ever in the UFC.

Mackenzie Dern vs Randa Markos- As it Happened

The fight started with both fighters maintaining their composure and calm. As this was evidently a very important fight for both. Having made 5 and 6 strikes respectively both had equal control on the fight in the first round. However some would suggest Dern leading the first round.

What was significant however was the urge of Dern to catch Markos in a submissive position. Which happened after halfway in round 1. Resulting in Markos taping out after being caught in an armbar and Dern registered her 9th win in professional MMA career.
