UFC Vegas 14: Ashley Yoder def Miranda Granger via UD
In another strawweight contest of UFC Vegas 14’s main event. Miranda Granger (1-1) takes on Ashley Yoder (2-5) looking forward to scoring one more win in her UFC win column. Yoder doesn’t hold an impressive record in the Octagon with five losses on her side and with this win, she is looking to improve her UFC record.
Round 1: The round started and Yoder immediately pushes Granger against the cage, Granger defends it very well and turned Yoder against the fence. Yoder tries to transition in armbar but Granger breaks the scramble. Both of them exchanged a few strikes and Yoder took Granger back on the ground.
She tries to stay on the top by Granger turned her and mounted on the top. She hit some nice body punches while Yoder tries to defend herself. Yoder tries to transition into a triangle choke but the horn sounds and Granger survives.
Round 2: Granger is trying to take the fight to the ground again as the first round but Yoder is keeping a distance from her. She tries to take Granger down on her own but she reverses. Yoder fails on a head and arm throw attempt that allowed Granger to take her back.
Yoder tries to scramble out and Granger looks to apply Kimura from the bottom. The referee issues a warning to Yoder for inactivity but the round ends.
Ashley exhibiting a strong ground game
Round 3: Unlike the other two rounds, they started this round by exchanging some punches and kicks. But this lasted only for a few seconds as Yoder shoots another takedown. She moves into side control and hits some short punches on the head of Granger.
Granger tries to move into a scramble, but Yoder transits into the top mount. She postures up and throws down punches and elbows. Yoder again tries to apply a rear-naked choke, and this time it looks really deep. The horn sounds and Granger survive by the bell. The judges will score this right now.
Result: Ashley Yoder def. Miranda Granger via unanimous decision (30-26,29-27,27-26)
