“I’m trying to fight my heart out for you guys,” Cody Garbrandt sends an emotional message after his loss at UFC Vegas 27

Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font

The former UFC Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt’s return didn’t go as planned. After dealing with COVID-19 complications and staying outside the Octagon for almost a year, he returned to face Rob Font in the main event of UFC Vegas 27.

Garbrandt fought a brave battle against Font and took a hell of a beating for five rounds but in the end, it resulted in an easy win for Rob Font with judges scoring the fight 50-45, 50-45, 48-47 in his favor.

Cody Garbrandt was classy as usual after his defeat and gave props to Rob Font and his team. But during the Instagram live session, he got emotional which showed how hard it is for him to deal with this loss.

‘No Love’ says, “I’m just really thankful, I wanted to come on here and tell you guys how much I appreciate and love your support, It’s very appreciated. I’m trying to fight my heart out for you guys and … thank you.”

Garbrandt managed to win only one fight out of his last five fights and with his win against Raphael Assuncao he came back to winning track. Then COVID-19 struck and ‘No Love’ was one of the hardest-hit UFC athletes.

Although, even after losing the fight, people are praising Garbrandt to stay in the fight for five rounds against Font, one of the hardest hitters of the Bantamweight division. We have full faith in ‘No Love’ that he’ll come back even stronger.

The number 3rd ranked UFC Bantamweight fighter, Rob Font became the strongest contender for the title with his win against Garbrandt at UFC Vegas 27.

But the Bantamweight division is one of the most stacked divisions of UFC. The champion Aljamain Sterling is out due to neck surgery and he’ll be facing Petr Yan in a rematch on his comeback.

Along with this the former Bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw is also making his comeback against the number 2nd ranked fighter, Cory Sandhagen. So it will be interesting to see who’ll face the winner of Sterling vs Yan 2.

Meanwhile, Rob Font intends to stay patient now following his big win against Garbrandt and see what happens when the dust settles. In the UFC Vegas 27, post-fight interview, he says,

“I feel like I still have to sit back and wait, It sucks. I could have dominated, or I could have knocked him out. I still would have had to sit back and wait. I definitely don’t want to fight backward, I’ve learned patience. I’ll be patient.”
