UFC Vegas 27: Cody Garbrandt vs Rob Font Prelims Results

Top-ranked bantamweights Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font are set to headline UFC Vegas 27. A win here for any of the two would see them close to a title shot.
Rob Font is ranked number 4, whereas Cody Garbrandt, the former bantamweight champion is ranked number 3. But, before that, the prelims kicked things off at the Apex! Here are the results from the prelims of UFC Vegas 27.
UFC Vegas 27: Damir Ismagulov def Rafael Alves via Unanimous Decision
Round 1: A flurry of punches sent Ismagulov crashing to the canvas. He then recovered and was on the back of Alves. Ismagulov landed some good shots to Alves’ ribs. A lot of shots from Ismagulov to Alves’ ribs. After a good start to the first round, Alves failed to capitalize. 10-9 Ismagulov
Round 2: Ismagulov started off with a jab. Alves then landed a front kick. Alves then dominated with a few good strikes. But then a huge left from Ismagulov rocked Alves as he went down. Alves recovered quickly. He then landed a few shots of his own. Alves then had some ground control for a while. The round ended with Ismagulov throwing some significant short punches. 10-9 Ismagulov
Round 3: Trailing the fight Alves had to do a lot coming into this round. They traded blows in the beginning. Alves very desperate went for a guillotine. But Ismagulov put him on the full mount. After a bit of struggle, Alves recovered in a fancy fashion and got back on his feet. He then did some serious damage to Ismagulov. He hit him with a spinning leg kick with 2 minutes left in the fight. Alves tried his best to finish Ismagulov but the time was up. 10-9 Alves

UFC Vegas 27: David Dvorak def Juancamilo Ronderos via Submission
Round 1: Newcomer Ronderos kept swinging wildly. But, he was not able to connect. Dvorak was using his experience to keep him at bay. Dvorak then saw a perfect opportunity to submit the Colombian, when both were close to the cage. He put him in a rear-naked choke, after immediately taking him on the back. He did with a single arm. Ronderos tapped after a brief struggle and Dvorak secured a win at UFC Vegas 27.
Result: David Dvorak def. Juancamilo Ronderos (via. submission : rear-naked choke)
UFC Vegas 27: Joshua Culibao def Shayilan Nuerdanbieke via Unanimous Decision
Round 1: Shayilan took the fight to the cage, and both the fighters remained along the cage for a whole 4 minutes. And Shayilan was able to execute one takedown out of 6 attempts during their cage side tussle. However, in the last minute of the fight, Culibao landed some significant head strikes. But Shaylian’s ground control gave him the edge. 10-9 Shayilan Nuerdanbieke
Round 2: Culibao started as the aggressor. He was landing strikes cleanly in this round. There wasn’t much in this round for Shayilan as he tried his best to somehow take down the Australian. However, Culibao was quick and every time Shayilan attempted a takedown he got back up with ease. 10-9 Culibao
Round 3: With the fight almost even, both the fighters tried to assert their authority in this final round. But it was Culibao who was up for the challenge. He landed clean strikes, connecting with a lot of short hooks and jabs. He even caused significant damage to Shayilan’s nose causing him to bleed profusely. Towards the end of the round Shayilan, somehow got a takedown, but it was too late. 10-9 Culibao
UFC Vegas 27: Bruno Silva def Victor Rodriguez via TKO
Round 1: There was hardly any action for the first twenty-five seconds. And then the favorite Bruno Silva unloaded like a canon, with some massive punches and a clean knee strike. What a win, what a knockout!
Result: Bruno Silva def. Victor Rodrigues via. TKO (punches, Round 1)
UFC Vegas 27: Court McGee def Claudio Silva via Unanimous Decision
Round 1: Silva throws a high kick to start the fight but misses, McGee lands a counter that forced Silva to stay back. Silva looked to land some heavy shots while McGee only relied on counters to tag him. Silva tried to land takedowns but McGee defended them really well and just as the round ends Silva landed a hard left hand.
Round 2: Silva again landed some early shots on the leading leg, McGee moved well and kept his distance. Silva attempted a double leg and McGee scrambled but survived. Silva desperately took the fight to the floor once again and McGee spins with it. McGee locks in for the arm-triangle choke but Silva got saved by the bell.
Round 3: Silva knew he needs a finish in this round to win this fight but McGee showed great defense to his shots in this round as well. Silva tried to catch him against the fence but McGee landed an overhand right followed by short elbows. Silva missed a huge right and McGee attempted a takedown and he finished the fight on the top.
Result: Court McGee def Claudio Silva via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 29-27)
UFC Vegas 27: Ben Rothwell def Chris Barnett via Submission
Round 1: Barnett moved in the fight, pumped up for his debut and Rothwell stared at him. He flurried punches but Rothwell stayed out of his range and he landed a clean kick to the middle. Barnett tried to land some heavy shots but misses and Rothwell dragged him into the ground. He landed a few shots just as the horn sounds.
Round 2: Rothwell moved forward in this round and landed a straight right hand, Barnett just gets backed up a bit and stayed on his feet. He shots for inside and Rothwell caught his neck, he grabbed the squeeze, and Barnett taps.
