UFC Vegas 32: Macy Chiasson reveals the reason for calling off the fight against Aspen Ladd

Macy Chiasson

The co-main event of UFC Vegas 32 hosting Macy Chiasson vs Aspen Ladd was called off by the promotion due to the injury of a fighter. The reason behind that has been revealed.

Macy Chiasson was scheduled to fight Aspen Ladd at the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 27 in a women’s bantamweight bout. Yesterday, the UFC announced that fight has been canceled. Reports and rumors suggested that it was Chiasson that got injured and it turns out it was right.

Macy took to Instagram to reveal why she couldn’t make the fight. From her statement, it seems though that the women’s bantamweight hurt her foot during her training camp which has led to a stress fracture in her foot. The fighter wants to reschedule her bout against Aspen Ladd to the future after recovery.

On her Instagram statement, she wrote, “Hey guys I went into this fight with a stress fracture in my foot from camp. Should have been in a boot instead but was feeling good with it wrapped up. I then re-injured it last night working out before my cut. I can hardly walk at all much less fight. I just want to say I am so sorry and I was never more ready in my life for this fight. Unfortunately, this happens in sports.

I really want everyone to see how great I’m fighting. I’m really hoping it will get rebooked for a later date. We have worked too hard for this. I just want to thank the @ufc and @mickmaynard for everything you do for us and for this opportunity.” Macy has won two of her last two in the UFC with an amazing win against Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Holland. After Macy has called off the fight, it is very unfortunate for Aspen given she has not fought for 19 months in the UFC. Would you suggest Aspen wait for Macy’s return or book another opponent?
