UFC Vegas 38 (Main event): After five rounds of intense battle, Thiago Santos came out victorious against Johnny Walker

The main event of UFC Vegas 38 was headlined by the light heavyweight match between the former title challenger Thiago Santos (21-9) and rising prospect Johnny Walker (18-5).
Round 1 – The round started with a leg kick from Santos, and Walker moved well to regain some distance. Santos switched stances and went for a head kick, Walker blocked it and replied with a leg kick of his own. Not many significant strikes were thrown, but Walker remained a little bit more active.
Round 2 – Leg kicks remained the main focus of this round as well. Santos was looking uncomfortable in there, but he managed to squeeze in some punches as well. Santos moved forward with a body kick and followed it with a nice hook. Walker answered with a punch of his own and landed a couple of more leg kicks to end the round.
Round 3 – Santos came out swinging in this round. He seems to have found his rhythm, and he lands some big shots in this round. Walker stuck to his leg kicks, but Santos is now countering them with some nice hooks. He landed a big straight punch that hurt Walker, he kept his composure and remained in the fight.
Round 4 – Walker didn’t look too comfortable with his hands. He was moving in with his leg kicks and wasn’t following up with his hands. Santos on the other hand was throwing some big shots, he missed most of them but he looked busier with the hands. Santos blasted a couple of more leg kicks to end the round.

Round 5 – Even though the fight was incredibly close, none of them tried to get the finish. They played it out safe, and relied on their leg kicks to maintain the distance. Walker attempted a steep kick that missed, and Santos landed a big overhand that caused some damage. Walker tried to move forward but couldn’t land anything significant.
Result: Thiago Santos def. Johnny Walker via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47)
