The main event of UFC Vegas 40 is here with a spectacular women’s featherweight matchup of Aspen Ladd vs Norma Dumont.

UFC Vegas 40 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a spectacular women’s featherweight fight between Aspen Ladd and Norma Dumont. In this bout, Ladd is coming off a long layoff of two years since her last fight. She last fought in the octagon against Yana Kunitskaya and won the fight via TKO in the third round in 2019.

Meanwhile, Norma Dumont is coming off a two-fight winning streak and is looking to extend her good run. She has a professional record of 6-1-0 in her career. Norma Dumont wins via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 40

Round 1: Aspen Ladd and Norma Dumont took the center and Dumont worked her jabs. Ladd barely landing a strike in the first few minutes while Dumont’s jab is very effective. Ladd tried to work up a combination but comes short. A nice left hand for Ladd and a great round overall for Dumont.

Round 2: Dumont once again found success with her effective jabs. Ladd putting no pressure until the second minute of the round. Both the fighters get into a clinch and Dumont is up against the cage. Both the fighter back in the center and Ladd still hasn’t landed anything scary towards Dumont. Dumont’s jabs have been very effective.

Round 3: Ladd gets a lot of instructions from her corner to put on the pressure. Ladd went with a takedown attempt but Dumont defended it with ease. Aspen is caught with two solid punches from Norma. Ladd is helpless and cannot hurt Norma Dumont. Dumont playing it smart and jabs away to the end of the round.

Round 4: Once again Ladd looking to get the takedown but Dumont defended well. Both the fighters are against the cage and Ladd is desperate for a finish now. Dumont turns the table around and gets a takedown. Somehow Ladd manages to get on top in the final minute and go down with punches till the final second.

Round 5: Ladd immediately goes to wrap the body of Dumont. Aspen pushed Dumont to the fence and threw some short punches that do barely anything. Ladd badly needs a finish to get the win. Dumont finds herself once again backed up against the fence defending. Right hand for Ladd and Dumont lands knees to Aspen’s body in the final minute.

Results: Norma Dumont def. Aspen Ladd via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)
