UFC Vegas 40: Jim Miller stuns Erick Gonzalez via second-round knockout

The UFC veteran Jim Miller defeats the debutant Erick Gonzalez with a second-round knockout at UFC Vegas 40 and earns the 22nd UFC win.

The Lightweight contest of UFC Vegas 40 fight card features the fight between the UFC veteran Jim Miller facing the debutant Erick Gonzalez. Miller has been a part of UFC for over a decade he holds notable wins against some of the biggest names in the division such as Charles Oliveira, Gleison Tibau, Clay Guida, and many others. Miller is coming into this fight with two consecutive losses with his latest loss coming against Joe Solecki at UFC on ABC: Vettori vs Holland.

Erick Gonzalez on the other hand is making his UFC debut with this fight at UFC Vegas 40 against the veteran Miller.

Round 1: Gonzalez lands a right hand to start the fight followed by a front kick. Miller attacks the leg with inside kicks and Gonzalez battles his way against the fence and wraps the body. Miller comes in full guard and Gonzalez blocks the takedown attempt. Gonzalez lands a heavy right hand and Miller is hurt but he recovers well and secures a takedown. Miller lands an uppercut as they stand up and he wobbles Gonzalez with a left hand and they end the round with a fury of punches.

Round 2: Gonzalez tries to land a punch and Miller catches him with a counter and Gonzalez misses a kick and Miller lands a left hand and Gonzalez hits the floor and he’s out. Miller lands some follow-up shots and that’s it.
