UFC Vegas 49 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a spectacular lightweight fight between Islam Makhachev and Bobby Green. In the main card, two amazing prospects of the lightweight division go head to head in a three-round fight. Arman Tsarukyan takes on Joel Alvarez to make a statement to the rest of the division.

Arman Tsarukyan gets the finish at UFC Vegas 49
Round 1 Both the fighters take center and trade jabs. Tsarukyan puts Joel down and takes the mount. Alvarez is in full guard and does a good job defending. Arman throws short punches to the body in an attempt to get Alvarez to lose his guard. Tsarukyan looking to get a D’arce choke but doesn’t get it. Blows to Joel’s face by Arman’s elbows.
Tsarukyan working well with his ground and pound. Another elbow that splits Tsarukyan’s nose. Alvarez is covered with blood all over his face and also gets some in his eyes.
Round 2 Another takedown for Arman. Alvarez was once again covered with blood from his cut in the first round. Arman with a barrage of punches and elbows. Joel defending blindly as he can’t see. Tsarukyan finally gets the finish. A lot of talks that the fight should have been stopped earlier given Alvarez could barely see anything in the second round on account of the deep cut near his eyes.
