UFC Vegas 55: Holly Holm vs Ketlen Vieira
UFC Vegas 55 takes place in a few hours at UFC Apex and the main event is a women’s bantamweight clash between Holly Holm and Kelten Vieira. Holm is a former UFC bantamweight champion in MMA and boxing as well as a kickboxing legend who’s running on a 2-fight winning streak currently over tough opponents like Irene Aldana and Raquel Pennington. Vieira on the other hand is coming off a unanimous decision victory over former champion Miesha Tate.
Other fights in place to be watching out for are a welterweight bout between Michel Pereira and Santiago Ponzinibbio, a middleweight bout between Eryk Anders and Jun Yong Park and another middleweight clash between Chidi Njokuani and Dusko Todorovic. The fights mentioned above are most likely going to deliver on the feet as it’s a clash of underrated strikers.

Holm is a standup fighter with kickboxing skills and has a vicious head kick in her arsenal in order to deliver a viral knockout, just like she delivered one of the all-time great head kick knockouts of Ronda Rousey back in 2015. Vieira on the other hand has more submissions than knockout victories but can stand and fight intelligently as well as seen in her last fight against Tate. Holm has officially entered her forties last year in October and Vieira entered her thirties in 2021, so there’s a decade of an age gap between both the fighters and hence youth advantage is on Vieira’s side.

In this fight, Vieira is going to put on a tough fight for Holm but the experience is going to be the key factor as Holm has gone into more 5 round fights than Vieira and if Vieira doesn’t take the fight to the ground, the 40-year old “Preacher’s Daughter” Holm might just sail smoothly over “Fenomeno” Vieira.
