A knockout phase was again witnessed at UFC Fight Night yesternight. It came in the middleweight contest between unranked fighters Andrew Sanchez and Wellington Turman.
Since the start of the game, ‘El Dirte’ played a very tactical game. With this technique, he was able to control Turman from the get-go. After the fighters separated, the striking began again. As first round was about to end, Turman landed a leg kick and a combination to the right body. He made a quick movement again and connected an insane kick to Sanchez’s right again.

However, despite these kicks Sanchez seemed unfazed. He landed a straight right, before unleashing a one-two combination. These sent the Turman against the ground. Sanchez leaned in to finish and landed two more nasty punches. Then referee Herb Dean waved the fight off.
With this, Sanchez secured his 12th career win and 6th by knockout. Further, it marked his first win the opening five minutes in over six years.
On the other hand, Turman wasn’t able to build up his against Markus Perez last year. He had suffered his first knockout as a professional competitor in twenty completed fights.
The 32- year-old’s victory should ensure that he keeps this momentum constant and looks to fight again at the end of the year. One reason is that he suffered a minimum damage and shouldn’t get any medical suspension.
However, the 24 year old Turman has a lot of time left to make a comeback. He can turm around from a maiden career knockout. He has absorbed a fight ending blow now and should learn how to avoid it.
