Dana White and Joe Pyfer
Not very often do we get to hear about the good side of UFC President Dana White from the fighters. UFC Vegas 60 fighter Joe Pyfer was not going to waste his opportunity at the octagon interview to thank the UFC boss for helping him better his life.
Dana White has been under the scope for the last year or so for the poor treatment of fighters. UFC President has been slammed by several critics and fans alike for not acknowledging the mistreatment of the fighters on the roster and their alleged poor pay structure.
Joe Pyfer is a Contender Series graduate who has a record of 8-2-0 in his professional career. “Bodybagz” was featured on the main card of UFC Vegas 50 in a middleweight matchup against Alen Amedovski. In the post-fight interview, after his first-round knockout, Joe took the moment to thank the UFC president.
“Thank you to Dana White. That man gave me cash on the side and gave me a place to live for the next year. And it’s my birthday today, I’m 26 years old. I want that 50k bonus because I am the birthday boy,” said Pyfer in his post-fight octagon interview.

UFC Vegas 60 was Pyfer’s first official UFC fight. The fighter gained a lot of attention for his performance in the Contender Series. After he won the contract, according to the fighter, Dana helped with his financial troubles and also gave him a place to stay.

“I think the guy gets sh*t on a lot for not being a good dude or whatever bullsh*t that people say sometimes,” Joe said in the post-fight press conference. “And I don’t know any of the other stories but as far as he’s treated me, he’s treated me gracefully,” said the birthday boy.
Joe was part of the DCWS twice. During his first appearance in 2020, he lost via TKO which forced him to give it another try this year in Season 6. The fighter this time made no mistake and knocked out his opponent in the opener to become the only fighter on that episode to earn a contract from White.
