The UFC, long viewed as the pinnacle of MMA, is expected to maintain honesty, transparency, and integrity in every competition. However, recent controversies involving alleged fight-fixing have forced both fans and analysts to question the organization’s fairness and ethical standards.

With fighters reportedly released over suspected involvement in fixed matches, outrage and concern across the MMA community have intensified dramatically. Recently, UFC fighter Isaac Dulgarian made headlines after being accused of deliberately losing his fight against rising Yadier del Valle.

Following the controversial bout, Dulgarian was released from the UFC, with the official reason cited as poor and disappointing performance. Now, UFC bantamweight Vince Morales has publicly revealed that they were allegedly offered similar opportunities to intentionally lose fights.

All this throwing the fight stuff is crazy! I’ve been approached about doing it and it’s not something I could live with…even though I ended up losing the damn fight anyways

Morales has since deleted his post, but confirmed that he was indeed offered $70K to deliberately lose a fight. Dulgarian’s case gained attention due to suspicious betting activities occurring just moments before his controversial UFC fight. In the first round, Dulgarian got caught up in a rear-naked choke and didn’t do much to defend it.

The betting odds shifted dramatically in a short span, raising alarms among sportsbooks and regulatory bodies monitoring combat sports integrity worldwide. Several major oddsmakers later promised refunds or compensation to bettors who lost money on that specific questionable wager.

These events collectively painted a concerning picture and strengthened widespread suspicions regarding potential match-fixing within professional MMA. On top of that, Dulgarian had close ties with controversial coach James Krause, who was banned for fight-fixing involvement.

The UFC immediately severed connections with all fighters linked to Krause, implementing strict measures to reinforce integrity and safety protocols. Following Morales’ confession went viral, women’s flyweight Vanessa Demopoulos also shared her experience of getting a similar offer.

Yeah, people have approached me to throw fights also. My integrity could never. We’ve spent our lives learning skills and honoring this sport. Can’t believe people compromise their morels like this

As more and more such cases come to light, the debate around transparency in UFC betting has raised concerns. Many fans have also urged FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate the root causes of such incidents.

Nevertheless, following the Isaac Dulgarian controversy, the UFC recently released an official statement addressing ongoing betting scandals. UFC mentioned that, like many major sports organizations, the UFC collaborates with an independent betting integrity service to monitor all wagering closely.

Their integrity partner, IC360, oversees betting on every event and is currently reviewing the Dulgarian vs. del Valle fight thoroughly. The UFC emphasized that fighter safety and maintaining the integrity of the sport remain their highest priorities above everything else.

It was top MMA journalist Ariel Helwani who first broke the news regarding Isaac Dulgarian’s sudden release from the UFC. Now, Helwani has provided further updates revealing how widespread and concerning such unethical practices have allegedly become within the UFC.

I’ve been told by multiple people that they’ve been approached and said ‘are you interested in throwing a fight. This is a massive issue for the UFC. When you consider the questionable refereeing as of late, you can’t help but let your mind go there as well.

These repeated controversies have fueled growing suspicions that certain outcomes might be influenced by external factors or possible fight-fixing activities.
