According to a new ESPN report, James Krause worked as an agent for offshore sportsbook ABCBetting.ag since 2019. He reportedly placed bets on behalf of other bettors. Krause allegedly offered a credit line, referral bonuses, and PayPal and Venmo payment options to these bettors. These offshore sportsbooks are illegal in the USA.

Last November unusual betting trends were noticed ahead of Shayilan Nuerdanbieke vs. Darrick Minner at UFC Fight Night 215 which raised eyebrows and came under the scrutiny of many betting regulating authorities. It was suspected that James had leaked information about Darrick’s knee injury before the match.

Due to Krause’s involvement in the betting scandal, the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended his Coaching license. Moreover, UFC informed athletes that they would be suspended from competing if they continued to train with Krause or at his gym, Glory MMA & Fitness.

Recently speaking on the MMA hour, Brandon has opened up on the whole James Krause incident and how it affected him. Moreno claimed that finding a new training camp was a difficult choice but eventually he had to do it. Moreno said, “It was hard when everything started. Of course, everything was a little bit hard… I had a long conversation with James. He told me all of the situations, and I understood, but at that moment, I decided to turn the page quickly and decide what I wanted to do.”

Moreno further revealed that James had already made a strategy for the upcoming fight so he just continued to work on it. He is currently working out with Sayif Saud of Fortis MMA. Although it will be difficult for Moreno without James at his corner during his title unification bout. Moreno has already faced Figueiredo in three matches in a row with each in possession of 1 win and one match ending in a draw.
