Dana White has seen a lot of fighters in the UFC. There is only one fighter he thinks is the dirtiest of them all. At UFC 113, Josh Koschek fought Paul Daley in a Welterweight bout. Tired of Koshchek’s antics, Daley got frustrated, and after the bout finished, he sucker punched Koshchek. Dana White did not appreciate the action and immediately banned Daley from the UFC.

White said in the post-fight presser, “You don’t ever hit a guy blatantly after the bell like that, whether you’re frustrated or not. It was probably one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen because he is a talented guy, and he is one of the best 170-pounders in the world. I don’t care if he fights in every show all over the world and becomes the best and everybody thinks he’s the best pound-for-pound best in the world, he will never fight in the UFC ever again.”

Since UFC 113, Paul Daley has never fought in the UFC again. He joined Strikeforce and even challenged Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz for the title in a losing effort. When UFC purchased Strikeforce, he was let go because the UFC and Dana White banned him.

Dana White continues to beef with fighters even today. Though he has not fired someone as he did with Paul Daley, he occasionally quarrels with fighters like Paulo Costa and others. However, White and Ortiz’s rivalry is unforgettable.

Paul Daley believes Dana White has taken things Personally

Before fighting Nick Diaz for the Strikeforce Welterweight title in 2011, Paul Daley revealed his intention to negotiate with the UFC again. When UFC bought Strikeforce, Paul Daley wanted to smooth things over with Dana White before any negotiation happened. But Daley believed deep down it was something personal with Dana White. He revealed his side of the story in an interview with ESPN.

Daley said, “I don’t particularly know why he has dislike for me, but it’s obvious he does have dislike for me, If no explanation or reason is given for disliking me, I’m generally going to dislike someone in return. If Dana gives me an honest opinion – aside from hitting Koscheck after the bell – as to why he genuinely dislikes me, then at least I’d get some explanation. But there’s too many incidents in the history of the UFC that prove it’s more personal. Many of the UFC fighters have done a lot worse things to bring the company into disrepute, and they’re still there. So it must be personal.”

To this day, Paul Daley never fought in the UFC ever again, and his beef with Dana White is not sorted. Daley retired with a record of 44 wins and 18 losses. He last fought in May 2022, winning the fight by Knockout.
