Arnold Allen is set to return to the octagon this April 15th for UFC fight night Kansas City. With his win over Kattar, Allen is very close to his dream of achieving the UFC gold. He will also soon be fighting his toughest battle to date against Max Holloway. Deemed the gatekeeper of the featherweight division, Holloway has subdued every fighter except for Alexander Volkanovski. A win over Holloway means a direct title shot for Allen bringing him closer to his goal. However, Allen almost risked losing all his success in the octagon due to a Christmas brawl in his past.
Arnold Allen was reportedly involved in a Christmas party brawl when he was a fresh prospect in the UFC. According to reports, the incident started at a party with people dressed as Oompa Loompas at All Manor of Events in Henley. Allen was already intoxicated when he jumped in to protect his girlfriend who was in an altercation with another woman.
Allen then began throwing windmill punches and beat up venue owner Andrew Hayward- farmer. Andrew had also warned Allen regarding his behaviour earlier that evening. Allen had assaulted six women in total while throwing hands in an intoxicated state, running wild that night. Arnold Allen was even presented before a judge to face a trial.
His Lawyer Richard stated, “ Allen had gone into complete protection mode. Allen had abandoned all other considerations. His only consideration was to aid his Girlfriend.” added Allen’s lawyer. It was also stated that Allen was not used to drinking because of his training. Allen pleaded guilty to public fighting but managed to avoid jail time.
Aftermath of Arnold Allen’s Christmas brawl

Arnold Allen got into a brawl during the night of 23 2017 at All Manor of Events. His lawyer stated that Arnold had gone into full protective mode and wanted to protect his girlfriend. The judge stated that Allen had gone wild. “Part of your training is self-control and knowing when not to exert more force than necessary, and that’s something you have done on this occasion,” said the judge to Allen. “Your whole career has been on a knife edge as a result of this.”
Allen was sentenced to five months of jail time for the incident. The term was however suspended and instead, Allen had to perform 150 hours of community service and was given a curfew of 7 am – 9 pm for a month. Arnold additionally had to pay over 4000 dollars in compensation to his victims as well.
Allen’s Christmas brawl almost cost him his career. However, since the incident, Allen has corrected his ways and went on to become the number 4 ranked undefeated featherweight fighter in the UFC. With a record of 19 wins and 1 loss, Arnold Allen is set to fight Max Holloway at UFC fight night Kansas City.
