Mike Perry is a former UFC fighter who fought in the welterweight division. In November 2020, at UFC 255, Perry found himself in an unfamiliar position while walking out for his fight. Instead of walking out to the song of his choice, Perry walked out to Beyoncé’s “Halo.”
“Platinum” Perry’s decision to roll with the song instead of throwing a tantrum won people’s hearts and set him apart from other fighters. Even though Mike Perry lost that fight, his walkout became a highlight reel forever. Perry fought Tim Means at UFC 255. The two fighters exchanged punches for three rounds, and Perry lost unanimously. Many believed that it was a cunning plot against Perry to distract him.
He turned a messy situation into a delightful one. It demonstrated his professionalism and ability to handle pressure. Perry’s willingness to embrace the moment also endeared him to the fans. They appreciated his sense of humor and ability to laugh at himself.

Perry improvised quickly with his humorous mindset, providing a memorable moment for the sport of mixed martial arts. “They put on the wrong song,” Daniel Cormier said when he figured out what was going out. “But that’s Mike Perry for you. You gotta roll with the punches,” Daniel Cormier said as the commentator of that fight.
Mike Perry at BKFC 41
Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold showed their dislike for each other, heading into their bout at BKFC 41. Fight fans expected the bout to be a bloody one. On the other side, fans were shocked by the abrupt turn of events following Perry’s victory.
Rockhold found early success in the bout. He evaded most of Perry’s punches and landed some significant shots of his own. However, Perry took over the fight in the second round, even managing to damage Rockhold’s tooth. Mike Perry won the fight via a second-round TKO.
The fight ended with an electric face-off between Mike Perry and UFC superstar Conor McGregor. This was definitely a highlight of the event. In the post-fight interview, Perry asked if he could have a face-off against Conor McGregor, who was in attendance. The Irishman came inside and faced off against Perry. The ‘Notorious’ praised him for the win, saying fair play to him.
