UFC 298 is the company’s first domestic PPV of 2024 in the US. The fight card is perfect. Former pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski will headline the event to defend his featherweight title. He will take on the undefeated Ilia Topuria. Both the main and co-main event have an Australian fighter in it.

The UFC originally scheduled the fight for UFC 297 in January. However, Volkanovski stepped on short notice against Islam Makhachev at UFC 294 and lost via knockout. At present, Volkanovski is the longest-reigning champion in the UFC, and Topuria is one of the most dangerous fighters in the promotion. Volkanovski presently has 5 title defenses at featherweight, with only Jose Aldo above him with 7.

The co-main event of UFC 298 is a middleweight fight between Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa. The UFC had scheduled the fight numerous times, but did not materialize due to Costa. Whittaker and Costa are fan-friendly fighters, and the winner could move closer to a title shot. A possible number-one contender fight for the bantamweight title between Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili is on the main card.
