UFC has added a new fighter, Alex Pereira to their roster and that man has created a lot of excitement for someone making their debut in the UFC.

Alex Pereira is a former GLORY Middleweight and Light Heavyweight fighter. The fighter from Brazil is an elite kickboxer who has transitioned his way into the world of mixed martial arts. Pereira does not look like he is coming into the UFC to take part but to take over the middleweight division. The Brazilian KO artist is a former two-division champion in GLORY. The fighter has also taken part in promotions like Kunlun Fight, SUPERKOMBAT Fighting Championship.

Alex has a record of 33-7-0 in his entire kickboxing career. The fighter has a record of 3-1-0 in his mixed martial arts career. The fighter signed to the UFC in the year 2021 and was scheduled to make his debut by the end of the year. Periera has been scheduled to fight at UFC 268 against Andreas Michailidis in the preliminary card. The Brazilian kickboxer is expected to light up the Madison Square Garden in New York City this weekend.

Though the fighter is only making his UFC debut, he will be having a lot of eyes around him. Mostly for his past association with the current UFC middleweight king, Israel Adesanya.

Israel Adesanya has been the undisputed middleweight king in the UFC since his debut. Adesanya came into the UFC guns blazing and showing opponents how striking should be done. The fighter won the interim middleweight championship belt against Kelvin Gastelum in UFC 236 and later went on to unify his belt with a knockout win against the former champion Robert Whittaker.

Adesanya takes great pride in not being finished in his UFC career. His only loss in UFC comes from his light heavyweight title challenge against Jan Blachowicz to whom he lost via unanimous decision. Though Adesanya has not been knocked out in the UFC, he cannot say that for his previous promotions.

Alex Pereira can proudly say that he is the only fighter to knockout or finish “The Last Stylebender” in his professional career. In their time at Glory, the Brazilian put Adesanya to sleep and became the only athlete to finish Adesanya. The introduction of Pereira in the UFC is a great addition because it adds spice to the division and hopefully, we get to see a matchup between Adesanya and his former rival.
