It was Dana White who saw the potential of Rosas after he won the Contender Series. “For a 17-year-old to conduct himself the way he did in this fight, I was blown away by it. Blown away. After what I just saw, this kid’s ready to fight in the UFC,” White said in a UFC press conference.

Immediately after that White offered the young fighter the UFC contract and it shocked a lot of fans. Since then he has received a grand welcome and is already getting a lot of attention.

Rosas debuted last year at UFC 282 against Jay Perrin in a bantamweight fight and won it via unanimous decision. After the fight, during the post-fight press conference, he mentioned that he is eager to climb the UFC bantamweight rankings and win the belt as soon as possible.

He said: “I feel really happy but not satisfied. I’m ready to step back in there as soon as possible and get what I really want, which is a title. The victory came out as planned, right? But what I’m saying is I still don’t have what I want. What I want is the belt right here with me. So I’m still not satisfied. I’m happy with my performance tonight, but I’m still not satisfied until that belt is wrapped around my waist.”

Rosas has shown great ground game in his last fights and looks amazing considering his age. However, many fans believe that the fighter needs to improve a lot before going up against top 5 ranked fighters.
