The tennis players are certainly not a fan of the ATP schedule. Top players have expressed their frustrations with playing tournaments one after the other without any break, and Ugo Humbert joined the list and did hide how it’s exhausting for him to keep playing for the whole year with just a month off.
Humbert did not agree with Jannik Sinner‘s views at all. The World No. 1 had opined that players can skip tournaments if it becomes hectci. Humbert doesn’t think this is the right way to manage the schedule as lower-ranked players will keep signing up for tournaments for the ranking points.
Humbert also accused the ATP of caring only about money and not about the well-being of the players who get injured after playing too many tournaments. The Frenchman, like many players, is not a fan of the Masters 1000s that are scheduled in two weeks.
For him, these Masters 1000 events are the ‘biggest nonsense‘. He also thinks the fans watching on television perhaps don’t have an idea about who is playing in which tournaments.
Ugo Humbert says keeping an eye on ranking points is exhausting
Ugo Humbert stands on the 16th position in the rankings and one of his goals the next year will be to get into the top 10. But Humbert stated that he won’t be thinking too much about the rankings as it exhausts him. He also revealed that he stopped checking his ranking every Monday because it used to drive him crazy.
Humbert is playing at the Swiss Indoors and defeated Jerome Kym in his opening round to set up his second-round clash with David Goffin. The former World No. 7 came from a set down to defeat Humbert in the Round of 16.
