The Money in the Bank weekend is almost here. On Saturday, live from the Intuit Dome, two superstars, a man and a woman, will get their hands on the coveted MITB contract that’d guarantee them a world title shot anytime and anywhere. As such, which pair could potentially go for broke in LA and retrieve that dangling briefcase hung high above the ring?

Speaking on WrestleVotes Radio, Joey Votes, the acclaimed wrestling insider, noted that sources familiar with the plans have suggested to watch out for either Rhea Ripley or Naomi on the women’s side of things. As for men, it could come down to Seth Rollins and Solo Sikoa. Votes did mention that the plans are always subject to change, especially with the current regime in place.

Ripley and Naomi, the two favorites, will face fierce competition from the likes of Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. In fact, before risking their all at the Money in the Bank PLE, the six women will be featured in a tag team match on this week’s SmackDown. The babyface trio of Ripley, Vaquer, and Alexa Bliss will take on Perez, Giulia, and Naomi.

It’d be interesting to see who gets the upper hand on the go-home show to MITB. As far as the men are concerned, Rollins and Sikoa are being listed as the frontrunners to make that briefcase their own. Other participants in the match include LA Knight, El Grande Americano, Penta, and Andrade. While the fans would love to see Knight finally bury the ghosts of 2023 and make his way to the briefcase, it doesn’t seem likely at all.

What’s going to main event this year’s Money in the Bank PLE?

The main event of the night at Money in the Bank is going to be John Cena and Logan Paul vs. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. It has been immensely criticized by the fans, but the match is happening anyways. The match was proposed by Rhodes after his thunderous WWE return at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The American Nightmare has a bone to pick with Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect, as the latter had unjustly dethroned Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title at WrestleMania 41. Uso, on the other hand, has been dealing with Paul for quite some time now. The Maverick seems elated about the fact that he’s teaming up with the Peacemaker star.

In fact, the IMPAULSIVE host even pitched a couple of names to Cena that they could use to call themselves as a duo. These four men will come face-to-face yet again on tonight’s SmackDown. Last week, the show ended with the babyfaces standing tall. It might be Cena’s and Paul’s turn to return the favor.

WWE CCO Triple H doesn’t like the Money in the Bank concept

Paul “Triple H” Levesque has been the man in charge of WWE creative since September 2022. While he received overwhelming reviews from the audience for his long-term booking, The Game seems to have lost his goodwill by a fair margin in recent months.

Moreover, a report from WrestleVotes has claimed that the WWE Hall of Famer isn’t a fan of the Money in the Bank concept. Levesque had never held the briefcase in his otherwise illustrious in-ring career. In fact, he’s never been in a single MITB ladder match either, which might have been his personal reluctance.

The Cerebral Assassin, to this day, is dumped on for booking Austin Theory to cash in his MITB contract on the US title and eventually fail. Theory became Mr. Money in the Bank under Vince McMahon‘s administration, but his career has been on a downfall ever since McMahon left WWE. Levesque, however, did a commendable job in Damian Priest‘s cash-in attempt that happened at WrestleMania XL.
