VALORANT New Agent and Map
Valorant had dropped a flashy cinematic in honor of Valorant’s one year completion, as well as a hype element for the upcoming Episode 3, which is about to drop tomorrow.
Apart from the flawless editing and stupefying clips of several Valorant streamers, some gameplay, it is possible RIOT might have teased an upcoming map as well as an agent.
The cinematic begins with what seems to be a cliffside research center with a blue reactor-type energy hub. The image of the nuclear wasteland town is very similar to the teaser card in the battlepass.
The ‘Testing Ground’ player card in Episode 3 Act 1 battlepass looks very similar at the start of the cinematic, probably pointing to a new VALORANT map to be based on a ruined city that was destroyed by KINGDOM.
Cynprel assessed the Testing Grounds player card last week, explaining that a radianite hazard symbol hints that the energy source is present at the location. With mirror agents attacking Earth-1 to steal its radianite store, the doppelgängers may have set their sights on this facility.
The trailer provides a closer look at a floating island, that could be our 7th map in the series, boasting both green and desert landscapes. “Just a couple of days ago we got a view of the “Testing Grounds” player card. The opening screen gives a closer one. A very deteriorated Kingdom facility, taken by flora on the left and desert on the right,” pointed out a Valorant enthusiast on Twitter.
The trailer also features a mysterious and skinny figure, well-dressed with glasses, holding a large weapon in one hand. This same character also appears in what looks like concept art at the 38-second mark. As Cynprel pointed out, this same character also appears in what looks like concept art at the 38-second mark.
The trailer featured a new place, probably an imaginary one and not one related to Valorant maps, with statues carved out of stone, featuring Viper, Phoenix, Reyna and even at one point, flashed Shroud. Some strange indecipherable acts were shown, like a mummy and a priest, but maybe all of these will get an explanation sooner or later.
The year one cinematic, apart from throwing these Easter eggs on VALORANT New Agent and Map, is meant to be a cinematic depicting a year-long journey of Valorant, with awesome gameplays as well as awful matches, some yearlong new friends as well as toxic teammates. From Viper to Jett and Phoenix to Raze, the cinematic was a complete tribute to the journey of RIOT’s VALORANT as well as each of its players.
