The co-main event featured number 7 ranked welterweight Tyron Woodley taking on number 10 ranked Vicente Luque. Woodley was coming off a three match skid, whereas Luque was looking forward to extending his win streak to 3.

Woodley was coming into the fight as the underdog with betting odds of +200, while the Brazilian Luque was the -250 favourite. It was the favourite all the way, in one of the most entertaining matches of the year.

Woodley started out aggressively. He pushed Luque upon the cage. Quick shift from Luque as he reversed his position pushing Woodley towards the cage. They traded a few shoulder strikes. They broke free then. Woodley kept it really aggressive. The fight once again moved towards the cage. They traded a few body shots. On breaking free, there was some bombs thrown by both the fighters. It was Luque who got hurt bad initially. But then a huge right hand from Luque landed flush, which made Woodley groggy. Luque then capitalized on it and executed a D’arce choke. Woodley tapped. What a win for Luque.
