The number 10th ranked UFC Welterweight fighter Vicente Luque is taking on the former champion Tyron Woodley in the co-main event of UFC 260. Although Woodley is on a three-fight losing streak entering into this fight but Luque isn’t underestimating him in any sense.

In his recent interview with AG Fight, Luque says, “I’m fighting an ex-champion. A guy who has dominated the division for a long time, I’m excited for the most important fight of my career. I can show my evolution in this fight, what I want to do in the division. I’m so excited.”

“Woodley is in the worst moment of his career, but he lost to the best three in the world. I take that into consideration. If I think he’s done, I may give him the chance to win,”

“I won’t underestimate him at all. I’ll be ready for champion Woodley. That aggressive one who finished fights. That’s the Woodley I want to fight and beat. I’m ready for his best version. I want to put on a show and score another knockout or submission.”

Vicente Luque knows a win against Woodley will catapult him in rankings

Tyron Woodley is ranked number 7th in the Welterweight rankings right now and Vicente Luque knows that with a win against him he will be catapulted in the rankings.

Luque added, “I’ve been working and showing my talent, showing what I’m able to do in the division. I feel like now it’s a time to get a big name and really prove myself and show that I can handle those top guys and eventually fight for the title.”

“That’s what I’m aiming for, but my entire focus is on this fight, I can’t look past Woodley. I mean, he’s a tough guy, but a win over a guy like him would definitely set me up to fight a top-five, and that’s what I’m going for. I want to keep climbing the division and go for the title; that’s my goal.”
