After retiring from the NFL, it didn’t take Jason Kelce to find his new venture as he signed with ESPN to appear on the “Monday Night Countdown” show. It’s been just three weeks since he made his broadcasting debut, but it seems his colleague Chris Russo is already fed up with seeing him.

Christopher (Mad Dog) Russo, known for his fierce commentary, voiced his displeasure for seeing too much of Kelce’s camera presence during the Monday Night Countdown, adding a little note that ESPN wouldn’t like him saying this. His blunt remark on the former NFL center surprised all his co-hosts at First Take since he and Kelce work together at ESPN.

They’re gonna get mad at me. I’m gonna say it anyway because I feel like it. I’m in one of those moods. I think we’ve all seen plenty of Jason Kelce in the last few weeks, would you agree?

Chris Russo said in the recent episode of ESPN’s First Take

Russo appeared to be referring to Kelce’s debut in the MNC show, during Atlanta Falcons’ victory over the Eagles. As the pregame show turned into a welcome party for Kelce, the clips of him showcasing his dance moves also went viral on the internet.

Jason Kelce receives support from Stephen A. Smith after Chris Russo’s criticism

While Russo took the bold risk of upsetting ESPN over his take on Kelce, Stephen A. Smith decided to go in another direction. Joining in the conversation on First Take, Smith praised the former Eagles center which was evidently disagreed by Mad Dog.

I happen to like Jason Kelce,” said Smith, to which Russo instantly yelled, asking his co-hosts if they agreed with him.

They put him in the booth in the Philadelphia game against Atlanta!

Trying to mitigate the situation, his co-hosts Molly Qerim and Jeff Saturday responded back to Mad Dog’s remark. But to that point, Russo’s disdain for Kelce was caught by many eyes watching the show.

Smith further chimed in, saying that he has no problems with Kelce and in fact, is “very proud of him” to join ESPN as an analyst. Russo was labeled a “hater” by former Indiapolis Colts’ center Saturday, while Qerim claimed that everyone sitting on the table is fond of the Hall of Fame-worthy center.
