Fourth seed Daniil Medvedev’s on-court theatrics were on display once again at the ATP Finals. Just two days after a heated outburst during his match against Taylor Fritz, the former World No. 1 provided more highlights for the fans in Turin.
After his win against Alex de Minaur, Medvedev wrote “Block the Noise” on the camera. He then celebrated by covering his ears, signaling his focus amid the noise.
Medvedev secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory against de Minaur, keeping his hopes alive in the tournament. He later explained the meaning behind his camera message to the ATP Tour website.

In his earlier match against Fritz, Medvedev’s reactions drew attention for the wrong reasons. At one point, he wasn’t even positioned in his usual returning stance. Medvedev will face World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in his final group-stage match.
Daniil Medvedev stays alive in the ATP Finals
Daniil Medvedev showcased his tactical skills on Tuesday (November 12) at the Nitto ATP Finals, claiming a strong win against Alex de Minaur. The fourth seed was in top form, winning 6-2, 6-4 to secure his first victory in the tournament. This win brought Medvedev’s record to 7-3 against de Minaur, displaying a much steadier game compared to his earlier loss to Taylor Fritz.
Medvedev’s performance was precise and consistent, with no break points conceded throughout the match. His powerful play led to 24 winners, while de Minaur only managed 10. Unlike his opening match, Medvedev took control from the baseline, winning 20 out of 31 points in the first set.
The second set saw a closer contest, but Medvedev made a crucial move by breaking de Minaur’s serve in the ninth game. This helped him secure the win and marked his first victory over a Top 10 player on hard courts since March. His 78-minute win keeps him in the race for the semi-finals.
The defeat puts a dent in de Minaur’s hopes of advancing to the knockout rounds in his debut at Turin. He will now face Fritz in his final round-robin match, hoping to end his tournament on a high note.
