German Tennis Federation president questions why Carlos Alcaraz participated in Six Kings Slam amid packed calendar

German Tennis Federation (DTB) president Dietloff von Arnim questioned players’ participation in the Six Kings Slam amidst a packed tennis schedule. He felt it was strange to see those players’ participation who complained about the congested calendar. Carlos Alcaraz expressed his discontent over playing one tournament after the other without some much-needed rest. The Spaniard even went on to say that playing more events in the future “will kill us.”

We are hearing again and again that the top players are complaining about the big strain in the tournament calendar. If someone complains about the big strain and then plays a show event then that is a bit strange.

Dietloff von Arnim told German Press Agency

As per reports, each player will receive an appearance fee of $1.5 million, while the winner will get $6 million. The prize money is almost double of what Jannik Sinner got after his US Open win.

Saudi Arabia has been at the receiving end of criticism since it started investing heavily in sports.
