Jannik Sinner tries to keep his private life away from the public eye, but eagle-eyed tennis fans somehow end up finding certain stuff that he wishes would not make headlines. On his social media, he doesn’t share much about his family or anything about his dating life.

Sinner, after enjoying his time in the Maldives during the off-season, flew to Dubai to start his pre-season training session. In a video that surfaced on the internet, Sinner could be seen enjoying his dinner date with his girlfriend Laila Hasanovic at Billionaire Dubai. One of Sinner’s coaches, Simone Vagonzzi, was also spotted with the couple.

Sinner started dating Hasanovic following his split with WTA ace Anna Kalinskaya. The dating rumors started after Hasanovic was seen sitting in Sinner’s box during the French Open, and later, social media users saw the model’s photo on Sinner’s lockscreen.

To start his pre-season early, Sinner skipped the Davis Cup Finals, where Italy scripted history by defeating Spain in Bologna, winning their third consecutive title in the prestigious team event. The next major goal for the 24-year-old is to defend his Australian Open crown for the second consecutive time.

This year, Sinner played the final of every Grand Slam event, winning in Melbourne and Wimbledon, losing the French Open and the US Open to his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz. He finished the season with four Big Titles, as apart from the aforementioned Majors, Sinner also clinched trophies at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals by defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alcaraz, respectively.

Bjorn Borg says Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz rivalry is the best thing that has happened to tennis

Bjorn Borg, just like many tennis fans, never misses a Carlos Alcaraz versus Jannik Sinner match. Since 2024, only these two players have dominated on the men’s tour, clinching 26 titles from 35 finals, including the last eight Majors.

It’s the best thing that could have happened to tennis. I don’t miss any of his (Alcaraz) matches against him (Sinner). It will be interesting to see how the major titles are distributed next season.

Bjorn Borg told Marca

Borg called Sinner more aggressive. But when it comes to playstyle, the 11-time Grand Slam singles champion picked the 22-year-old because of how he feels the ball.

He’s an incredible player and person. You feel very comfortable around him. Everyone loves him. I was surprised by what a great guy he is. The way he plays… For me, he’s the fastest on the court. I was impressed by his personality, and I wish him all the best.

Bjorn Borg added

Sinner trails 6-10 in their head-to-head matchups, losing seven of their last nine meetings. Sinner took home six trophies from 10 finals, while the six-time Grand Slam champion won eight titles from 11 finals, the most on the men’s tour this year.

The year-end No.1 title was also on the line, but in the end, Alcaraz finished the season as the top player. He did not have many points to defend at the ATP Finals and needed to reach just the semifinals to secure the No.1 ranking position. The four-time Grand Slam champion had 1,500 points to defend, but although he did defend, it wasn’t enough to deny Alcaraz the year-end No.1 title.

Alcaraz, apart from the French Open and Wimbledon, also took home three Masters 1000s at the Monte Carlo Masters, Italian Open, and the Cincinnati Masters. The last title that he lifted was the Japan Open.

While Sinner will be aiming to complete a three-peat at the Australian Open next year, Alcaraz will be bidding to complete the Career Grand Slam. This year, he suffered a four-set defeat at the hands of Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
