Jannik Sinner ended his remarkable season on a high note by winning his first Nitto ATP Finals title on Sunday. He delivered an impressive performance to defeat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4. This victory made him the first Italian to claim the trophy in the tournament’s 55-year history.
However, what is more impressive from Sinner’s part is the crowd attraction he gained throughout this week. The chants of ‘Ole! Ole! Ole! Sinner!’ were frequent throughout the Inalpi Arena and it was the same before Sinner’s tournament-winning speech on Sunday (November 17).
Sinner has achieved a lot of great things in 2024. However, he couldn’t do anything in front of his adoring home fans. The World No.1 missed the Rome Masters earlier in the season due to a hip injury.

Sinner came into the ATP Finals after experiencing virus symptoms in Paris, which led him to withdraw from the Paris Masters. However, his performances in Turin showed no signs of any decline in his tennis level, as he won the tournament without dropping a set.
Records broken by Jannik Sinner at the ATP Finals
World No.1 Jannik Sinner showcased his all-around game against Taylor Fritz, which resulted in his first ATP Finals title of his career. Sinner made history by winning the Nitto ATP Finals without dropping a set. He is the first player to achieve this feat since Ivan Lendl in 1986.
With his 70th win of the year, Sinner joined Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in an exclusive club. He is now one of only three players to win the Australian Open, US Open, and Nitto ATP Finals in the same season. At 23 years old, Sinner also became the first player born in the 2000s to win the season-ending tournament.
Sinner faced Fritz in a rematch of the US Open final and their earlier round-robin match. He delivered a composed and tactical performance, leaving Fritz with few chances to fight back. From the baseline, Sinner dominated with powerful and precise shots from both wings. He wrapped up the final in just 85 minutes, improving his head-to-head record against Fritz to 4-1.
