Charles Oliveira is one of the top athletes on the UFC roster. However, a recent video of the former champion cutting weight has fans worried. Oliveira is competing against Arman Tsarukyan in the lightweight division at UFC 300. However, due to past incidents of missing weight and the strict UFC policy around it, Team Oliveira is going to the extreme to make sure they make weight.
A video from Charles Oliveira‘s TikTok account documented one segment of his weight-cut process. Oliveira was not looking like he was enjoying it. The team was together in the sauna, trying to lose some pounds with sweat while Oliveira was getting covered with towels. Although never out of shape, Oliveira reportedly walks around at approximately 176-180 pounds.

UFC legend Chael Sonnen reported that team Oliveira was concerned about making weight, as they have faced the consequences before. This is a very important fight for Oliveira as winning at UFC 300 could potentially set him up for a title shot against the reigning lightweight champion. Moreover, UFC CEO Dana White will not allow title fights off of previously missed weights.
Charles Oliveira missed weight not once, nor twice but four times when he was in the featherweight division. He missed making 155lbs once before his potential fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274. It was a title defense for Oliveira, but because he could not make weight in time he was stripped off of the title. Luckily, this is not the case this time as Oliveira easily breezed through the weight limit.
