The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off their 2024-25 season campaign on a winning note as they beat the Baltimore Ravens 27-20. It was a historic night for the reigning Super Bowl champions who yet again bested Lamar Jackson and co. in a rematch of the AFC Championship game.

The hype surrounding opening night was immense and unsurprisingly, Travis Kelce‘s girlfriend Taylor Swift showed up to support her man. The Eras Tour star had the time of her life as she cheered for Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes as she stood beside the tight end’s mother Donna Kelce in the suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

Heading into the game, Mahomes had 28,424 regular season passing yards, just 84 passing yards short of becoming the all-time leader in passing yards in franchise history.

The star quarterback caught up to the milestone through the second quarter and coincidentally, it was a 23-yard reception to Travis Kelce that earned him the record. Soon after he achieved this feat, Arrowhead Stadium erupted with loud cheers. Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce were happy for the quarterback and the 14-time Grammy Award winner proceeded to give her (possibly) future mother-in-law a hug.

Patrick Mahomes broke Len Dawson’s passing record in seven seasons

The quarterback has achieved this feat at the age of 28. It is interesting to note that Mahomes has played 86 fewer games than Dawson did and managed to surpass his record. The next milestone for the three-time Super Bowl champion will be to surpass Dawson’s record of having the most passing touchdowns in Kansas City Chiefs history.

Mahomes is just 19 touchdowns short of surpassing that record. All eyes were on Taylor Swift from the moment she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in a golf cart and she has established a good relationship with Travis Kelce’s parents, Ed and Donna. She was seen celebrating with them and enjoying the game.

Taylor Swift began attending the home games of the Kansas City Chiefs in September of 2023, she attended 13 games last season and made sure to take an arduous trip across the world to be present to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce in the Super Bowl. Undoubtedly, as the season goes on, fans can expect the pop star to be in attendance as long as her schedule permits her to. She has proved to be a lucky charm for the home team!
