Oleksandr Usyk met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. There he presented the Ukrainian leader with the WBC heavyweight championship belt. Usyk handed Zelensky the belt as a gift, jokingly referring to his victory over Tyson Fury. Here is what happened:
Oleksandr Usyk’s gesture was a nod to Ukraine’s resilience. He emphasized that the belt represented Ukrainian strength and perseverance. Zelensky, though initially hesitant to accept such a prestigious gift, praised Usyk for glorifying Ukrainian strength. The President thanked him for his contributions to the nation’s morale during challenging times.
This is the belt I took from my fat friend in London. The original belt, we want it to stay with you. We worked for a long time to get it.

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision. Their highly anticipated fight was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That victory made Usyk the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. It has been 25 years since the last undisputed champion in the heavyweight division. Usyk won with scores of 115-112, 114-113, and 113-114, narrowly edging out Fury after 12 rounds of intense boxing.
The highly anticipated rematch between the two is scheduled for later this year in December. Fury’s team believes he can make the necessary adjustments to reclaim victory. Meanwhile, Usyk aims to defend his titles once again. Given how closely matched they are, the rematch is expected to be even more intense, as both fighters will look to settle the score.
Unfortunately for Fury, even if he were to win the fight, he would not be crowned as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the World. This is because Usyk had to vacate his IBF title. This allowed Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua to fight for the vacant title, and Dubois came out victorious. Fury can still claim the WBC, WBA and WBO titles in December.
