He has already shown that he is going to be a crucial part of the ODI and the T20I set-up but when it comes to the longest format of the sport, is he ready to be a part of the whites?

Former Indian batting coach, Vikram Rathour believes that Singh certainly has what it takes to be a good Test cricketer. When I see him bat in nets, I can't find any technical reasons why Rinku cannot be a successful Test batter. I understand he has made his name as a terrific finisher in T20 cricket but if you look at his first-class record, he is averaging in high 50s. He is also blessed with a very calm temperament. So all these factors indicate that if given an opportunity, he can develop into a Test cricketer.
Vikram Rathour said in an interview with PTI

In first-class cricket, Singh has played 47 matches, hammering 3173 runs at a fine average of 54.70. He has also scored 20 fifties while smashing seven centuries. His showdown in the Indian threads has been equally awe-inspiring, whether against Ireland, Australia or South Africa.

The rise of Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh was a part of the KKR set-up for a while before he could finally bag the limelight. His persistence in the squad would eventually open up the desired alleyway for the young southpaw. Hammering Yash Dayal for 31 runs in the final over in a contest against the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023, Singh overshot all expectations.

Since then, he has never really looked back. He continued to proliferate and play crucial knocks which would assist his team. Even though in IPL 2024, he didn’t get to bat much, considering KKR’s strong top-order, yet he has managed to establish himself as one of the finest finishers in the making if his team needs him to deliver.
