Camila Giorgi, the tennis player who recently retired from the sport to pursue modeling and fashion design, has been accused of not paying rent from the previous villa she was living in. The 32-year-old Italian had quietly announced her retirement from the sport amidst all the rumors about the WTA not getting to her two months prior.
Giorgi last played at the Miami Open, where she lost to Iga Swiatek. However, the rumors and news that followed caught the eye of tennis enthusiasts. She had shifted to America to evade the Italian tax authorities.
The former World No.26 has quietly vacated her villa in Calenzano, near Florence. Her enraged landlord had filed a complaint against her for not paying rent for the last six months and left the villa with important artifacts.
Not only did she evade rent for the last 6 months but also stole Persian rugs, and costly artifacts worth 100 thousand euros. Furthermore, the owner spoke to her father about the current situation. He also revealed that the neighbors had seen her move randomly, collecting whatever was present in the villa, and stacking up whatever she could.
The Giorgi saga continues:

The artifacts meant a lot to the owner, who in turn asked Giorgi’s parents for money. However, no update on that has been given. It seems like the former tennis player owes a lot to the state as well, as the owner hopes to get his money back.
Camila Giorgi is set to appear for trial to defend herself from all the accusations
This is not the first time Camila Giorgi has been caught for something controversial. Giorgi had previously faced a lot of issues for using fake COVID certificates to get into the 2022 Australian Open.
Her father had angrily disagreed with this. Now, she has to appear in front of an investigating judge in Vicenza, for the preliminary hearing of the accusations.
Her future depends on the judge and his decision regarding the fake certificates. However, her other accusations remain unnoticed by many.
