Last year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson finally buried the hatchet with longtime co-actor Vin Diesel. The Great One made a shocking return to the Fast & Furious franchise with a post-credit cameo in Fast X. Afterwards, Johnson officially announced a spinoff that he’d lead as Luke Hobbs—one that’d serve as the precursor to the Fast X sequel.
This Thanksgiving, the 57-year-old actor took to Instagram. He said that Universal Studios has been telling him that they need Fast X: Part 2 by March 2026. And Comcast is asking for a couple more installments in the Fast & Furious franchise to cap it off. Vin posted a picture of himself with Johnson from the sets of Fast Five. Its writer told him that he needed Dom Toretto and Luke Hobbs to put their differences to rest.
Diesel concluded by reminiscing about his time with Dwayne, and he wants to relive that brotherhood. They’re set to be cast in Fast 11. The Louis Leterrier-directed film is slated to begin principal photography in early 2025. Moreover, despite previously announcing it, Johnson’s solo Hobbs movie is up in the air.
Diesel’s post doesn’t mention it, leaving the moviegoers perplexed. It’d be interesting to see how that situation pans out. The Rock is one happy man right now. His animated musical adventure film Moana 2 has grossed a touch above $231 million in the US since hitting the theaters on November 27.
In its opening five-day stretch, the Johnson-starrer roped in $139.8 million. It trumped Frozen 2’s total of $130.3 million to become the most successful opening weekend film of Walt Disney Animation Studios. This comes on the heels of an underwhelming holiday season crowd-pleaser, Red One.
Is The Rock off WrestleMania 41?
As far as The Rock’s WWE status is concerned, there’s a real concern out there. Yesterday, a report from SK Wrestling‘s Dr. Chris Featherstone implied that the WWE creative is moving ahead with the assumption that the Black Adam star wouldn’t be competing at WrestleMania 41.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful mentioned it on this Monday’s post-show that he thinks likewise. The fans on social media aren’t willing to buy this, especially after The Brahma Bull’s recent appearance at the Bad Blood PLE.

Moreover, Dwayne Johnson himself noted to a user on Instagram that reports of him not working WrestleMania are bullsh*t. It also needs to be mentioned that Rock is due for the shooting of Fast 11 at the onset of the new year. Maybe that could keep him off the board from WWE.
