Vince Russo couldn't care less about what's happening in WWE these days but he has slammed Stephanie McMahon over her previous claim.

Former WWE lead writer Vince Russo has taken offense to Stephanie McMahon‘s comments from a while ago where she claimed that WWE books a year’s worth of storylines in advance. Russo called McMahon a liar, citing Cody Rhodes‘ ongoing WWE title reign, which to Russo has been a failure.

He affirmed that even if Steph’s comments are true and WWE had indeed planned out the previous year way before, it hasn’t lived up to the expectations. In the case, the writer contemporaneous with the Attitude Era believes those in charge should be fired. McMahon, whom Russo is targeting, has always spoken highly of her husband and WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H.

The ex-WWE chairwoman has stayed connected with the company even though she doesn’t have any job title associated with her name. Most recently, she kicked off the Royal Rumble PLE and is expected to make sporadic on-screen appearances forward.

Let’s just call Stephanie McMahon a liar when it comes to that because either we call her a liar and say that is absolutely positively not true or they have booked a year of absolute s***.

She’s proud of the way Paul Levesque has steered the once-drowning Titanic stature of WWE. However, in recent months, the WWE Universe has been pretty vocal about their burgeoning frustration with the ongoing storylines. A few also believe that The Game has burned out creatively after an incredible two-year stretch of directing the main roster creative.

Levesque’s booking of Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair as this year’s Royal Rumble winners has largely been under fire. The fans are especially miffed with The Yeet Master. His squash of Austin Theory from Raw got spammed with a ton of dislikes on YouTube. It remains to be seen if The Cerebral Assassin eventually decides to crown him at WrestleMania 41 against Gunther.

Did Stephanie McMahon hate Vince Russo back in the day?

Often-polarizing Vince Russo was tapped in by then-WWF as their head writer in 1997. His creative influence put WWE in the driver’s seat against WCW when the two promotions were sparring for ratings. After Russo quit WWE in Oct. 1999, he was rehired in June 2002 to oversee creative for both Raw and SmackDown, but his stay only lasted for two weeks. Why’s that?

Russo was brought back by Vince McMahon without the knowledge of his daughter. It was a premonition of things going south. Russo was made to speak with The Million Dollar Princess on the phone, where she belittled Russo and didn’t want him in the company at all.

The latter described that Stephanie treated him as if he were her redheaded stepchild. The 48-year-old businesswoman worked as a Chief Brand Officer for WWE for the better part of her time with the company. She was promoted as the joint-CEO in 2023 after her father stepped down on grounds of hush money allegations.

In the meantime, she fostered a healthy environment and tried to bring the roster together. Her resignation in January 2023 upset a number of people, who thought her dad’s forceful return to authority would nullify the positive influence she’s had.

Is Vince Russo completely justified in calling Cody Rhodes’ title reign horrible?

There’s no denying that Cody Rhodes could’ve been handed some more credible opponents during his ongoing title reign. He was tottering in the Bloodline’s vortex for longer than needed, taking on their leader, Solo Sikoa, in the main event of SummerSlam 2024.

Prior to that, he had a couple of barn-burners with AJ Styles. The strongest part of Cody’s reign, which many believe was a feud with Kevin Owens could’ve come sooner than later. The Prodigal Son is currently beefing with John Cena as the two are set to headline WrestleMania 41.

Vince Russo’s claim of WWE booking Rhodes horribly might not entirely hold true. The American Nightmare continues to receive rave reactions from the fans, which is a testament to his character work. He’s also proven to be a constant merch-seller for the promotion.
