In the 2011 Annual Players Selection Meeting, the Denver Broncos picked Von Miller from the Texas A&M Aggies with the second pick.

Two-time Super Bowl champion Vonnie B’VSean “Von” Miller has made a major revelation about his future in the NFL. The veteran linebacker, who recently became a free agent, has expressed interest in rejoining the Denver Broncos for the 2025 season.

Miller, 35, spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills but was released in March to help the team manage its salary cap. His $17.1 million base salary accounted for 8.5% of the team’s cap, leading to his departure. Miller played 36 games for the Buffalo Bills, combining for 37 tackles and 14 sacks.

A return to Denver would be a homecoming for Miller, who won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos and was named the game’s MVP. He played a key role in the team’s dominant defense that helped secure a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in 2016. Von Miller forced two crucial fumbles that led to Denver’s only touchdowns in the game remembered as the final Super Bowl of Peyton Manning and Cam Newton’s unforgettable night.

I’ve always loved blue and orange, you just have to see. It’s a fun time right now for me and my career. You just have to wait and see.

Von Miller said in an interview with Kay Adams

Miller also won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 before joining the Bills in 2022. As a free agent, Miller’s role next season is expected to be more rotational. If he returns to Denver, he could provide valuable leadership and experience to a young Broncos defense.

On the plus side, the Denver Broncos are already an elite defense. The Broncos ranked third behind the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles in least points allowed. They also recorded the most sacks in the regular season with 63.0 in seventeen games. The addition of Dre Greenlaw has also elevated the same. They also have a strong presence in Alex Singleton, who’s also a veteran who could provide the leadership in place of Von Miller.

Another AFC team is also on the radar to sign Von Miller in free agency

Sports Illustrated’s Jarrett Bailey recently predicted that the Ravens could pursue Von Miller as a free-agent signing. Given Baltimore’s history of adding veteran defenders, Miller could serve as a rotational edge rusher. He could provide valuable experience to a strong pass-rush unit that ranked second in the league with 54 sacks last season.

Kyle Van Noy led the Ravens with 12.5 sacks in 2024, but at 34 years old, his production may decline. Additionally, Odafe Oweh, who doubled his career-high sack total last season, remains a question mark for consistency. Miller’s presence could offer much-needed depth and leadership to the unit.

After all, he is the NFL’s active leader in sacks with 129.5 despite his time being hampered by injuries. With that being said, the veteran is also at a stage where they are increasingly prone to injuries and aging. To add on top of it, Von Miller doesn’t have the best public image either.

You don’t want Miller as a three-down player at this stage of his career, but utilizing him like a closer in baseball in the biggest moments of the game could prove to be beneficial.

While Miller has openly expressed his preference for a return to Denver, Baltimore presents an intriguing alternative. As the offseason moves closer to the NFL Draft, the teams are growing impatient to fill the voids they might not be able to close out then.
