Wade Barrett was considered one of the most promising stars in WWE after his main roster debut in 2010. His faction was immediately put into a main-event storyline against John Cena at SummerSlam. However, after seeing mixed success as a singles superstar, he hung up his boots in 2016. The English wrestler recently took a bump for the first time since his retirement and had a few words to say about it.
The 44-year-old reposted a video of his bump on X and said that he was willing to take such risks if the situation demanded it. This incident took place during the main event of the latest episode of Raw, where Damian Priest faced Dominik Mysterio. Liv Morgan helped out her love interest by placing his feet on the ropes after a broken arrow.
This led to Rhea Ripley coming out and spearing her rival over the announcer’s desk. The two female superstars crashed into Barrett, and the commentator fell off his chair onto the floor. Fans immediately started speculating what this statement could mean for the former Nexus leader and his career.
Barrett has previously expressed his interest in coming out of retirement, especially to have a match against Drew McIntyre. The Chosen One has also talked about the possibility of such a match taking place.
8.5 years since I last took a bump. It can be a dangerous job, but as a gentleman, it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

The two UK superstars had an aggressive interaction at Clash at the Castle after the show went off the air and even crossed paths last week on Raw. Barrett could be a great feud for McIntyre after he wraps up his Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood.
Wade Barrett showers massive praise upon Drew McIntyre and his promo work
It is no secret that Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett are great friends in real life. In an interview with AceOdds, the five-time Intercontinental Champion showered massive praise upon his friend’s heel work and the incredible promos that he had been cutting over the past year.
Wade Barrett opined that McIntyre could do it all in professional wrestling. He could be the company’s top hero, demonstrated by his work as WWE Champion during the pandemic. Furthermore, he was also given a hero’s welcome in Glasgow despite being a heel at the time. Simultaneously, the Scottish Psychopath was also able to pull off being the most vile human being possible, which is what fans saw in Chicago just a few days after his Clash at the Castle match.
Drew has hit a whole new level on the mic where he’s potentially the number one guy in the entire industry when it comes to talking. I would say historically that was Drew’s biggest weak point, especially when we first moved over to the US. He wasn’t confident on the mic.

The former King of the Ring winner also thought that the 2020 Royal Rumble winner was great in the ring and a professional when it came to representing WWE in media. He thought that mic work had historically been McIntyre’s weakest point. However, he may now be the number one guy on the stick in the entire industry.
