WATCH: Bill Wilson etches his name in blood after CW 139 TKO victory
Bill Wilson wrote his initials in blood after Cage Warriors debut victory
Bill Wilson won his professional MMA debut at CW 139 via a K.O. in the second round. When you make your debut there are ways you can make sure people remember your name. Maybe a flashy KO, sinking in a rare submission or maybe an eye-catching post-fight call-out is what most fighters have in mind, well not Wilson as the young American had a different way to leave a mark.
Cage Warriors 139 took place at San Diego California and was a showcase for local talents and neighboring gyms to test out their green fighters. Bill Wilson fighting out of Oceanside, California was paired up against Albert Lee of the Brazilian Top Team, California in his professional debut. Wilson had a prior experience of 5 amateur fights, 4 of which he won, hence making his professional debut in a well-known organization like cage warriors must have been a big deal for him.

Albert Lee meanwhile was a 1-1 professional who looked to get back into the winning column against a still green fighter like Wilson.
The bout was scheduled to be the opener for the CW 139 Bailey vs Trinidad card and debuting athlete delivered. A fight that he dominated in, Wilson was able to get the ground and pound TKO victory at the 3-minute mark of round 2. However, it was not the way he won but the way he celebrated his win that had everyone raising their eyebrows.
After gaining the stoppage, an adrenaline-hyped Wilson would see that his eyes were bleeding and make sure his hard-earned blood wouldn’t go wasted. Wilson smeared some of that blood onto his hand, bent down and used to blood to literally leave his mark on the octagon. Though not very visible, Wilson would go on to etch his initials “BW” on the octagon canvas.
Though the move was not sanitary in the least, it has to be one of the craziest post-knockout celebrations in any organization. Wilson now has a professional record of 1-0 while Albert Lee has deteriorated to 1-2 as a pro, the same record he had as an amateur.
