Watch: Birthday boy LeBron James leaves mother and wife speechless with sensational dunk vs Hawks

LeBron James
Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James showed that they have what it takes to make it to the playoffs even without Anthony Davis. On his birthday James dropped 47 points against the Hawks, scored a triple-double nearly falling short of just 1 assist, and improved the Lakers’ record to 15-21. With this victory, they continued to improve their playoff chances while sitting 13th in the Western Conference.
Savannah James, the 38-year-old wife of LeBron James, was rendered speechless by the superstar’s thunderous dunk during the game. Russell Westbrook passed to “The King” with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter. James made his way to the basket by pushing past two players and launching his trademark monster slam to give the Los Angeles Lakers a four-point lead.
The moment the slam ended, the camera moved to the audience, where Savannah was left speechless at her husband’s athletic prowess. Gloria James, LeBron’s mother, cheered on as her son made a slam dunk. James finished the game with 47 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists. Coming in 2nd for the Lakers was Thomas Bryant who added 19 points to the scoreboard
Coming off the bench, Russell Westbrook finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists. With 12 points and nine assists, Dennis Schroder also had a strong performance, assisting the Lakers in their 15th victory of the season. For the Hawks, Trae Young scored 29 points while dishing out eight assists. Dejounte Murray contributed an additional 20 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists, and Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed 17 points as a substitute.

LeBron James puts an end to the “GOAT” discussion

LeBron James continues to defy all odds as a 38-year-old and definitely merits the praise he is receiving after that outstanding all-around performance for the Lakers. The long-standing discussion on who is the actual goat may have found the answer after LeBron’s recent odd-defying performances for the purple and gold.
When asked what was the secret to his longevity he said, “Making sure my body stays fresh, but my mind more importantly,” James said after the game. “As long as I keep my mind fresh, then my body will follow what it may. It’s always good to come out here with my teammates. They worked their butts off tonight.”
He further said, “After starting 1-for-5, I didn’t know what was going to happen. But just going out there and playing with my teammates, it’s been a decent road trip. … We want to finish it off the right way.” Through victories over the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers have improved to 2-2 on their current road trip. On Monday, they will play the Charlotte Hornets.
