Watch: Brandon Moreno shows off impressive striking skill as new training footage emerges
Brandon Moreno
Brandon Moreno will be taking on his former opponent Kara-France for a five-round flyweight title decider this weekend. The fight is going to take place in the co-main event of UFC 277 inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The excitement of this fight is massive as both Moreno and France are amazing fighters and have shown that in the past.
Moreno, who was previously the flyweight champion, lost his belt against rival Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 270. The fight was very close and is considered one of the biggest title fights in the UFC flyweight division. It was expected that Moreno would be waiting for the fourth fight with the Brazilian and try to get the title he lost. However, it seems like ‘The Assassin Baby’ didn’t want to just sit and wait around. Recently at UFC 277 media day, Moreno revealed that he wants to be active and fight as many fights as possible.
He said:
“I don’t want to wait. Last year I fought in January one time. This year I fight in January and then no fight. I just wanted to fight. I talked with Jason (House), my manager, and I talked with UFC like, ‘Hey, give me a fight for the title. If no, OK.’ I want to fight. I want to be active…I don’t care about Deiveson. My personal plan is to be healthy for this fight(UFC 277). If nothing really bad happens and I’m not injured, my plan is to fight in December before the end of the year.”
Brandon Moreno is more than ready to get a shot at the UFC flyweight interim title
Moreno’s head coach, Jorge Capitello recently shared a clip of him having training session with the fighter.
In the clip, Moreno is visibly very fast and accurate with his shots and footwork. The fighter is looking extremely focused and is not letting any type of distractions get in his way.
Moreno’s striking and jiu-jitsu are amazing and he has the cardio to go along with his opponents. The fighter has 3 knockouts, 11 submissions and 5 decision wins throughout his professional life and can be considered as one of the most complete fighters on the UFC roster.
It will be the second time that Moreno and France will fight each other since 2019 in which the Mexican took a clear win. But this time, things are different. France has been incredible in his last few fights and is very eager to get a knockout finish. The attention this fight is getting is very justified and it is surely going to be an entertaining fight.
