Charles Barkley left Shaquille O'Neal in splits after falling on his butt to show New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson how to fall

It does not take much for Charles Barkley to bring out a bout of laughter from his colleagues on Inside the NBA. Most of the time it is Shaquille O’Neal who breaks out into one on the show. But tonight, ‘the round mound of rebound’ enacted a situation to avoid injury that left his fellow Hall of Famer in splits.

During today’s live telecast of Inside the NBA on TNT, the panel were talking about the wrist injury New Orleans Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson suffered while trying to break a fall. Charles Barkley said that Williamson should not have used his hands to break the fall, but rather used his butt. Shaquille O’Neal sensed that a bit of riling up would make Barkley enact how to do that, and he asked Barkley to show how it is done. The Hall of Famer fell on his butt with his arms in the air to show how to safely fall, but this act left O’Neal in splits.

As usual, the 4-time champion kept on asking for a replay of the act and kept on laughing while watching Barkley fall on his butt. His constant laughter even prompted the rest of the panel to chuckle and troll ‘the round mound of rebound.’

Charles Barkley was only trying to show how to fall properly on the basketball court. The reason is that falling improperly can cause serious injuries to joints in the hands and legs considering their weight. The Pelicans thankfully had Zion Williamson back after he went to the locker room briefly.

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal not on New Orleans Pelicans bandwagon

After the Pelicans game, host Ernie Johnson asked the panel what they thought of their chances in the playoffs. Surprisingly, both said that they were not convinced about their chances this year. Their main criticism was based on the inconsistent performances of the team.

Kenny Smith added that injuries have prevented the team from playing their best team for a decent amount of time. However, that was not enough to break the notion that the Pelicans are hot and cold at times. They have not strung together a consistent stretch of games.

Something extremely important in the playoffs. Keeping the form is important if one has to advance in a series. Both Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal said that whoever plays against the Pelicans in the playoffs have the advantage.
