WATCH: Krunal Pandya and Rohit Sharma uphold spirit of cricket during MI vs PBKS clash
There’s a reason cricket is known as the gentlemen’s game. No matter how competitive the match is, all the players participating in the game make sure to keep the sportsmanship above anything and everything. Mumbai Indian’s spinner Krunal Pandya and skipper Rohit Sharma gave a perfect example of Spirit of Cricket.
Mumbai Indians are up against Punjab Kings in a must-win encounter at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Since IPL 2021 is rapidly heading towards its business days, it is natural to see some tempers flaring among the players. However, Krunal Pandya and Rohit Sharma caused a meltdown among the fans with their adorable gesture for KL Rahul.
On the last ball of the sixth over, Krunal bowled a yorker to PBKS batter Chris Gayle. The West Indies power-hitter jammed the ball down the pitch only for Punjab skipper KL Rahul to come in the middle. After hitting Rahul, the ball straight went to Krunal and he was quick to uproot the stumps.

The same was followed by the MI spinner making a loud appeal to dismiss Rahul. However, as the umpire was referring the decision upstairs, Krunal was quick to withdraw the appeal. The skipper Rohit also supported his player’s decision. This was a generous move by Mumbai considering that KL was a big wicket for the defending champions.
Rahul seemed highly impressed with the good gesture by Mumbai as he showed a thumbs up to Rohit. However, the PBKS skipper failed to make the most out of the lifeline provided to him. The 29-year-old walked back to the pavilion in the seventh over only after losing his wicket to Kieron Pollard. The batter ended up with just 21 runs off 22 deliveries.
