Blockbuster summer signing Lionel Messi finally scores his first league goal for PSG as they beat Nantes 3-1 at home. Football fans around world had to wait long enough to witness the Argentinian’s first league goal in PSG colors. It came at a crucial time as PSG had a slim lead over Nantes and former Barcelona man scored to confirm all three points for his side.
It took Messi 412 minutes in the league to score his first goal but it was worth the wait. Messi received the ball in the middle of the pitch before dribbling a couple of yards turning his man inside out firing a low shot from outside of the box. It will be huge boost for Messi and PSG as a whole as they travel to England in the midweek to face Manchester City in a crucial Champions League tie.

10 men PSG get the job done at home against Nantes
PSG just about held onto the three points after late drama against Nantes. Mbappe gave them the lead in the second minute of the game. However things got nervy for Pochettino’s side after goalkeeper Keylor Navas was shown a straight red card after his reckless challenge on Nantes forward in hope if clearing the ball.
Randal Kolo Muani equalised just minutes after the keeper was sent off. However Lionel Messi came to PSG’s rescue in the last 10 minutes as he forced an own goal from Dennis Appiah in a rather spectacular fashion. Moments later Messi found the back of the net for his first Ligue 1 goal for PSG scoring an amazing goal from outside the box in a typical Lionel Messi way. PSG extend their lead at the top of the table to 13 points after the late win against Nantes.
